So proud of you all today 4/3P – we were singing, dancing and composing! Well done.
Quick answer – loads of things!
This week we have a Singing Day. We are starting new topics in Literacy and Humanities. Have you read any adventure or mystery stories recently – we are going to be looking at some and hopefully writing our own. Finding out about who Jesus is will be our RE topic. The last week of term will be our sponsored swim so get in training! We are hoping to do 150 lengths between us. Also in the last week we are going to visit a farm and a mansion in Cheshire. What a term – and all in the next five weeks!
Make sure you learn the next times tables and your spellings and dont forget to read at home. Don’t get left behind.
This week we are going to our first orchestral concert with the Halle at the Bridgewater Hall. Which musical instruments do you expect to see? Make a list on the blog.
Next week we are going to look at some poems we can perform in class or maybe even in assembly if we are brave enough. Have you got a favourite poem? Did your Mum or Dad learn any poems at school you could share with us?
This website is great for testing yourself on tables and spellings. Have a go, explore the site, you can even compete against someone in a different country to see who is the fastest!
We need to be able to read and write numbers up to 1000 and put them in order. We also need to know what each digit is worth. So for example can you write 372 in words and do you know what the 7 is worth? Can you write 607 in words and do you know what the 6 is worth? Get your parents to test you on other 3 digit numbers. Lookout for the target chart in our classroom.
How many weather words can you find? Send me a list and we’ll see who gets the most. Two to get you started are snow and snow!!
Happy new year 4/3 P. This term we are going to be looking at weather around the world. Have a look at a couple of websites and see if you can find out about weather in England first – bbc.co.uk/weather and weather.yahoo.com
In literacy we are looking at greek myths can you find out anything about Theseus and the Minatour or Pandoras box.
If you could read the stories you would have a head start when we get back to school.
Then there’s always tables to learn! Where are you up to? Learn the next set of multiplication tables ready for testing. Hope to see you soon – enjoy the snow while it lasts.
Hello 4/3P
I hope you are all having fun in the snow. If you get cold and want something to do inside, have a go at drawing 12 snowmen and making them all different! Try spotty scarves, different noses etc.
Mrs Smith
Hi 4/3P
We are going to be learning about how to write a non-chronological report over the next four weeks. Miss Wakefield and myself are going to help you to write one about elephants. Is you can find any good web sites or books or photos and tell us about them and bring them in that would be great!
I know I can count on you all!
